An 84 acre tract in Cupertino was purchased by the Gregory Group from Interland in 1988. Robert Mowat Associates were hired to help the developer
re-define the approved Interland land plan. The goal was to more clearly define open spaces and allow two housing product types to fit within the existing framework of the City approved tentative map and land contract. Working closely with the developer, RMA helped create a land plan with two product types in a “zipper” styled land plan setting. The open spaces were more fluidly connected and a number of illustrative exhibits were created for presentation. City review meetings and staff level reviews resulted in a new approved final map in a process that lasted less than 6 months. The resulting land plan incorporated all of the required community elements while providing the developer with a plan both implementable and cost effective.
