San Ysidro Square is a mixed use – transit oriented development located on the edge of Gilroy’s downtown. Situated on 6.9 acres are 69 town homes and a 106 unit podium level condominium complex. The buildings’ architecture has the appearance of the California Mission style. Robert Mowat Associates continues the theme throughout the landscape by creating Mission inspired entry signage and a Campanario bell tower. Townhomes have private outdoor patios in a “mews” styled landscape design. Condominiums are located on the main street frontage with parking below. Podium level spaces include decorative tiled fountains, colorful sculpture, painted stucco planters and an active lawn space. Outdoor spaces include a dog area, children’s play area, picnic facilities and a large rec complex. The recreation area has a resort atmosphere with a landscape that reflects early Mission styled architecture and gardens.
