On a 10 acre site located adjacent to San Francisco Bay and Alameda Creek, Robert Mowat Associates created three alternate land plan solutions for a proposed regional equestrian center. The center includes boarding facilities, a caretaker’s home, stables, outdoor pens, lunging corrals, paddocks and arena’s specifically tailored for eventing. The arena is sited and planned to be used for either dressage, eventing, western or hunter-jumpers as market conditions dictate. Three site plans were developed to promote internal City discussion. The final land plan chosen will be used to formulate feasibility studies and internal discussions as the program and plan potentially moves forward.
Early discussions centered on the possibilities of a day camp use. Several sketch concepts were also developed to explore this early idea.
