Across from Apple Computer headquarters is a vertical residential community of loft styled units with landscape spaces located on a structural podium. RMA created private courtyards with translucent glass panels and precast concrete planters. A central fountain is adjacent to a recycled wood deck, a custom steel arbor and a dual purpose bocce/putting green court. Colored pavers extend the architecture to the communal “green”. The central plaza was designed for social interaction highlighting group activities and resident interaction. Colorful posts and custom lights were designed by the firm. Recycled products were used throughout. Bio swales help scrub and cleanse run off water. Specialized plantings were chosen to help this process of bio sustainability. Permeable pavers in parking areas recharge underground aquifers.
